Access

We remain concerned by the high level of public access and by the lack of privacy being shown to those who live in Estate houses within the grounds. In addition, members of the public continue to access the private garden and terraces of Gosford House. As such, we will shortly be introducing a number of wooden barriers with signage to ask walkers to remain a respectful distance from all houses....

Gosford Estate Ponds

Our foresters are continuing to prune and fell trees that have been assessed as dangerous. A number of large beech trees require to be removed near the curling house and the ponds will be closed for a short time whilst this work is ongoing....

Fernyness Woods Update

Felling works are complete and the area has reopened for access. Our foresters will continue to operate in the area to tidy up the felled trees.For those walking through Fernyness into Gosford, please be aware of the cows and calves grazing in the field beyond the woods. Cows with young calves can be aggressive, especially with dogs. ...

Fernyness Wood

The access at Liars Road via Fernyness Wood to the estate grounds will be temporarily closed from 8th March 2021. A number of trees have been identified that require safety pruning work and, in some cases, felling. The area needs to be closed to accommodate this work. We will endeavour to compete the work as quickly as possible and reopen the area....
